TailorWear is built around one simple promise: the best product and experience for our customers.

Unlike many international tailors who rely heavily on unproven technology or inflate costs through expensive retail spaces, TailorWear keeps the focus where it matters: on you and your suit.

  • Made in India, For the World: By manufacturing in India, we bring centuries of textile craftsmanship and tailoring expertise to your wardrobe, while keeping costs fair.
  • Cost Advantage, Passed to You: With almost zero investment in luxury retail overheads, we invest in the fabric, construction, and detailing of your suit instead of marble floors & chandelier lights.
  • Customer-First Philosophy: From personalized fittings (in Mumbai or virtually worldwide) to seamless communication, our focus is on your convenience and satisfaction.
  • Slow Fashion Commitment: We believe in sustainability and long-term value, not fast trends. Every TailorWear suit is made to last.

👉 Choose TailorWear for a suit that rivals the finest international houses, at a fraction of the price, with the warmth of a truly customer-first approach.

Yes, TailorWear offers all three types of suit constructions: full canvas, half canvas, and fused, depending on your preference, budget, and the occasion.

  • Full Canvas Suits: These suits are handcrafted with canvas stitched into the jacket for maximum durability, drape, and breathability. Ideal for those who want the very best in bespoke tailoring.
  • Half Canvas Suits: These suits offer a balance between structure and flexibility, offering a sharp look at a lighter weight and cost. Perfect for everyday business suits or travel.
  • Fused Suits: Lightweight and budget-friendly, with modern fusing technology that provides clean lines while being easier on the pocket.

Yes, we do consult for ethnic wear and suits under one consultation. This ensures time efficiency for you. It also helps you to get a one-view of your entire wedding or festive wardrobe. However, both categories require a very different decision-making approach.

While the silhouettes of Suits, jackets, and coats make it easy to visualize the final garment looking at the fabric, the same is not true for Sherwani & ethnic wear.

At TailorWear, we specialize in bespoke suits and custom tailoring in Mumbai (and worldwide through our online module). To maintain the highest standards of fit, finish, and durability, we consciously do not work with fabrics provided from outside.

This decision is made entirely in the long-term interest of our customers. Our curated fabric library includes premium wool, linen, cotton, khadi silk, brocade, and velvet — sourced from trusted mills in India and abroad. By working only with fabrics we know and trust, we ensure that your suit, sherwani, or jacket not only looks perfect but also lasts for years.

👉 We invite you to explore our exclusive fabric collection and let us help you craft a garment that blends luxury, sustainability, and world-class tailoring.

We require: neck, chest, waist, seat, shoulder width, sleeve length, jacket length, trouser waist, hip/seat, and inseam. These core points let us craft a balanced jacket and trousers that drape correctly.
👉 [Download our measurement checklist]

Yes, we work with professionally taken measurements. Send them via our online form or WhatsApp. If you’re unsure about accuracy, we strongly recommend a video call between us and the local tailor to avoid fit issues.

Use our easy-to-use DIY measurement tutorial and live help. Many customers find our virtual guidance as reliable as in-person sessions.

We give you both the options in our measurement tutorial. You can use either of the two or a mix of both. The important point is to keep consulting us and maintain a clear communication line. If you have a favorite garment that fits perfectly, you can also send its flat measurements for reference.

Many customers send their clothes to us for referencing, with whatever tweaking they want in that. We develop fresh measurements based on that.

We offer alteration guidance and support. For minor tweaks, we advise local trusted tailors (we can recommend), and we’ll offer alteration options or repair paths depending on the item and timeline. Clear measurement notes reduce this risk.

Fit terminology (slim, tailored, classic) and pattern cuts differ across brands. Always check the brand’s fit guide and sample garment dimensions. When in doubt, order a TailorWear measurement check to match your preferred silhouette.

Common errors: measuring over thick clothing, pulling the tape too tight, measuring while hunched, or misreading units (inches vs cm). Always measure standing straight, and ask for help with the shoulder/seat measurements. And, double-check values. If not sure, use our Tailor-On-Call or virtual assistance.

At TailorWear, we offer pure wool, tropical wool, wool blends, merino wool, and wool-cashmere. Lightweight tropical wool is perfect for Indian summers, while mid-weight wool is ideal for year-round wear. Heavy wool is best for coats and winter suits. Those who are looking for budget material can opt for wool blends.

The “Super” rating refers to the fineness of wool fibers. Higher numbers (e.g., Super 170s) are softer and lighter, but not always more durable. For everyday suits, Super 100s–120s balance elegance with strength.

Cotton is breathable, natural, and versatile. It absorbs moisture well and is skin-friendly, making it a staple for shirts and summer suits. We use fine Egyptian, Giza, Supima, and organic cottons for luxurious comfort and durability.

Linen, made from flax, is highly breathable, eco-friendly, and perfect for hot, humid climates. Its natural slubs give it character. While linen wrinkles, this is part of its charm, adding relaxed elegance to shirts, trousers, and jackets.

Wool: Structured, drapes well, versatile year-round.

Cotton: Breathable, casual yet smart, good for day wear.

Linen: Lightweight, stylishly wrinkled, best for summer weddings and resort wear.

Yes. We carry stretch cottons and wool blends with a small percentage of Elastane or Lycra. These fabrics move with your body, ideal for travel and long workdays without compromising on style.

Jacquard and brocade are woven fabrics with intricate patterns, often in silk blends. They are luxurious and used in sherwanis, bandhgalas, and festive wear for weddings and celebrations.

Khadi silk combines the raw beauty of hand-spun khadi with the sheen of silk. Sustainably woven in India, it offers texture, breathability, and elegance, making it a perfect choice for jackets and ethnic wear.

Lighter fabrics (220–280 gsm) are airy and good for summer. Medium weights (280–320 gsm) work year-round. Heavy fabrics (350+ gsm) add structure and warmth, ideal for coats and winter suits.

Plain weave: Smooth and crisp, often used in cotton shirts.

Twill weave: Diagonal lines, soft drape, wrinkle-resistant.

Herringbone / Houndstooth: Textured, stylish patterns for jackets.

Sharkskin / Birdseye: Subtle patterned weaves for business suits.

Velvet (often silk, wool, or synthetic blends) has a plush nap and is richer. Velveteen, made from cotton, is stiffer with shorter pile. We recommend velvet for sherwanis, jackets, and occasion wear.

Sherwanis look regal in silk, brocade, jacquard, or velvet with zardozi embroidery. For understated elegance, linen silk and matka silk are also excellent choices. TailorWear specializes in both minimalist and opulent sherwani fabrics.

If you travel often, choose wrinkle-resistant wools or stretch blends. For tropical climates, go for linen, cotton, or lightweight wool. For weddings or festive occasions, jacquard silks and velvets make the right statement. Our team helps match fabric to your style, season, and usage.

TailorWear practices slow fashion: we manufacture on demand, use long-lasting natural and responsibly sourced fabrics, minimize overproduction, and perform local manufacturing in India to reduce transport emissions. Every garment is built to last — repairable, refinable and designed to stay in your wardrobe for years.

We align our work with UN Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption & Production, ensuring our processes promote mindful purchasing, minimal waste, and circular practices. By encouraging customers to buy less but better, TailorWear helps reduce the environmental cost of fast fashion.

We reduce waste by producing made-to-order, reusing offcuts for linings or accessories, optimizing cutting layouts, and recycling textile scraps. Local production reduces freight emissions, and our repair & alteration services extend garment life, one of the most effective ways to lower a wardrobe’s carbon footprint. We are also working hard to find a recycling partner who could help our clients with the stock they want to dispose off in an environmental friendly manner.
